Sound Healing
As a Practitioner of Sound Healing the type of Sound Healing that I do is based on the College of Sound Healing's approach as developed by Simon Heather.
Sound healing is the therapeutic use of sound with the intention of healing. Sounds can be made using the voice and/or instruments. Some of the instruments used may be a singing bowl, drum, rattle, tuning forks or gong. The voice may use the sounds of toning, over toning, vowels or affirmations. Making our own sounds and listening to others’ sounds is healing in its own right. This is because our bodies are made up of cells and each cell resonates at its own frequency. Using sounds that the body needs and responds to can bring the body into harmony at a cellular level. Sound healing can happen in a variety of ways and one way is an individual treatment.
Sound Healing Practitioner Training
I offer the Sound Healing Practitioner Training as developed by the College of Sound Healing. The training is approved by the CMA (Complementary Medical Association). It is focused on developing and using the voice for healing and during the course you will learn a variety of methods to give sound healing treatments. This years dates can be found in the Diary. See 'Sound Healing Training' for details.
I run a sound healing support group for both trainees and interested people, see the Diary for details.
Individual Treatments
In an individual treatment the healer directs sounds at the recipient with the intention of healing.
The treatment lasts for about an hour. This includes time to think about what has bought you to Sound Healing and afterwards to discuss how you found the treatment. In this time you will be given time to fully recover yourself before going into the outside world. It is done with the person receiving Sound Healing lying on a treatment table fully clothed, although having bare feet can help the process.
Workshops - Sound Healing in Groups
Sound healing can also happen with groups of people. It may happen as a purposeful directing of sound to heal such as a sound bath or it may happen in other ways. These could be through songs, rounds, chants, toning, sound activities and sound meditations.
I offer Sound Healing Workshops in Derbyshire but I will also travel to established groups or other events to facilitate workshops in Sound Healing. It is better to discuss your requirements with me so that we can arrange a mutually agreeable date and price.
