Profile
Experience
I have had a vast range of experiences which I draw upon. After working with adults I did a teaching degree and then taught children of junior age for four years. Working with nursery and reception completed my school teaching career. Art therapy training followed this and all of my art therapy experience has been with children, at first in the NHS but mostly in schools.
My experience with teaching/facilitating adults has been in sound healing, reiki and spiritual awareness/development.
The areas of skills and knowledge that contribute to what I do is based upon my experiences as a musician, Art Therapist, Sound Healer, Class Teacher, Spiritualist, Reiki Master, Spiritual Healer and Spiritual Awareness/development.
I don't believe that I switch off/on my various areas of interest. It is more about dipping into whatever area feels most appropriate at that time within the boundaries of what has been asked of me. It's a fluid thing that makes up a whole.
Personal Philosophy
Since training in Art Therapy I have come to realise the enormous power that making art in a free and spontaneous way can have. The same can be said for using sound in the same intuitive, creative way. Using either sound, art or a combination of both, has the potential to release emotional, psychological or spiritual blockages. It is this process of releasing old outworn patterns that interests me the most. During workshops I try to be a channel for the Universe to work through me for the highest good of all of the participants. I aim to provide a safe, contained and creative environment where participants can connect with their deeper selves, have a profound experience and be relaxed enough to be themselves.
People often ask me which I prefer - working with sound or art. The answer is both because they are totally wonderful. Together though they are even better and what really excites me is when they are so fused together that they become one.
Qualifications
I am a Fully Qualified Teacher (BA Hons with Qualified Teacher Status), Art Therapist (PGDip Art Psychotherapy), Practitioner and Tutor for the College of Sound Healing, approved SNU Spiritual Healer (Spiritualist National Union) and Reiki Master. My hope is to provide as good a service as I can so I support this by being a member of The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), being registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and holding professional Liability Insurance.

This image is one from art therapy. It has no title as such but is based on 'Endings'. Endings and beginnings are one - each creates the other. When we avoid an ending we are also putting off a beginning. One of the things that was in this image as I made it was how mixed the feelings are about endings. Endings can bring up all sorts of feelings - sadness, anger, excitement, fear, relief or just pure thankfulness that one is still intact and something is over.
